My attorney laughed when he read it.
Then he stopped laughing.
Because there was another problem.
Karen had apparently contacted a real estate agent and listed her property online with photographs of my pool.
She had advertised it as an amenity.
My attorney told me to document everything.
So I did.
Screenshots.
Emails.
Security footage.
Survey records.
Property documents.
Every conversation.
Every threat.
Every claim.
I built a file so complete that even Karen couldn't argue with it.
The Second Visit
Three weeks later, I was sitting in my kitchen when I heard knocking.
I looked outside.
Karen was standing at my front door.
Beside her were the same two deputies.
This time, I didn't panic.
I walked outside with my phone recording.
Karen immediately pointed toward the backyard.
"He still hasn't refilled it."
Deputy Harris looked tired.
"Ma'am, we already discussed this."
"You don't understand."
"I understand perfectly."
She turned toward me.
"You are obligated to restore my property."
I smiled.
"Your property?"
She hesitated.
Deputy Harris looked at her.
"Karen, the survey was completed."
"I don't accept it."
"You don't have to accept it."
He held up a copy.
"But it's the official survey."
Karen crossed her arms.
"I want a judge to decide."
"That's your right."
She looked satisfied.
"Good."
Then Deputy Harris added:
"But until then, you cannot enter his property."
Her smile disappeared.
"You mean I can't even check the pool?"
"No."
"It's partly mine."
"No."
Karen stared at him.
