My Neighbor’s Black Belt Champion Cornered Me — He Had No Idea I Trained Elite Fighters
Chapter 6
crashed onto the cheap foam mats with a heavy thud, the wind knocked
out of his lungs.
The entire dojo gasped. The 'champion' was on his back within two
seconds.
I stood over him, not aggressively, but with calm authority. "Get up,
Brad. You're off-balance."
Brad scrambled to his feet, his face flushed with embarrassment and
rage. The smirk was gone. He roared, abandoning all technique, and
rushed me like a wild animal, throwing a flurry of punches—lefts,
rights, uppercuts.
I entered the storm. I didn't back away. I stepped into his range,
neutralizing his power. I used my forearms to deflect and parry his
strikes, not fighting force with force, but redirecting his energy. It was
like water flowing around a rock. He threw twenty punches; none of
them landed flush.
He was breathing heavily now, panic setting into his eyes. He realized
he was hitting a ghost. Out of desperation, he shot in for a sloppy
double-leg takedown. He dropped his head, diving for my waist.
It was a gift.
I sprawled instantly, throwing my hips back and driving my weight
down onto the back of his neck and shoulders. He was crushed flat
against the mat, completely immobilized. I slipped my right arm under
his chin, locking in a guillotine choke. I didn't apply full pressure—just
enough to let him know that I held his consciousness in my hands.
I leaned down, whispering into his ear, my voice devoid of emotion.
"You're a bully, Brad. You terrorize people who can't fight back because
you're terrified of those who can. You play at being a warrior. I train the
men who do the actual fighting."
He struggled, thrashing his legs, but the lock was inescapable. He tried
to speak, but only a gurgling sound escaped his throat.
"I can put you to sleep right now," I whispered. "I can snap your arm. I
can shatter your knee. And I can do it in front of all these people who
think you're a god. Or, you can tap, and this ends. But if you tap, the
bullying stops. You leave Mrs. Gable alone. You leave the kids alone. You
learn some actual humility."
I tightened the grip just a fraction. He felt the darkness closing in. Panic
overrode his pride.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
He slapped the mat frantically.
I released the choke instantly and stood up, stepping back. Brad rolled
over, gasping for air, clutching his throat, coughing violently. He looked
up at me, the arrogance completely erased from his features, replaced
by genuine, unadulterated awe and fear.
The dojo was silent as a tomb. None of his students moved. They had
just watched their invincible master dismantled without a single punch
being thrown by the opponent.
I picked up my gym bag and walked toward the door. I paused at the
threshold and looked back at Brad, who was still kneeling on the mat.
"Fix the fence on your side, Brad," I said quietly. "And tell your guys they
can park in front of my house if they need to. Just don't block the
driveway."
