Almost.

"What did he say?"

"He told me that if anyone ever asked about him, I should say nothing."

"Did he say who?"

Angela shook her head.

"No."

Then she remembered something.

"He gave me a key."

Malik looked up.

"What key?"

"I thought I lost it."

They found the key in an old jewelry box.

The next morning, Angela, Malik, David and Reed drove across town.

The key opened a storage unit.

Inside were boxes.

Photographs.

Documents.

A duffel bag.

An old laptop.

And a small wooden case.

Malik opened it.

Inside was another challenge coin.

But this one was different.

It carried no military emblem.

Only a set of numbers.

**17 — 04 — 29**

David stared at it.

"I've seen this before."

"Where?"

"Marcus had it the last time I saw him."

Reed examined the numbers.

"They're not a date."

Malik thought.

"What if they're coordinates?"

David looked at him.

"Coordinates?"

"Maybe."

They checked.

The numbers pointed to a location outside Atlanta.

A small abandoned training facility.

Reed became quiet.

"I know that place."

"What is it?"

"Old military property."

"Why would Dad hide something there?"

Reed looked toward David.

"Because nobody would expect a civilian to know about it."

They drove there that afternoon.

The facility had been abandoned for years.

Inside one building, they found a rusted locker.

The combination was written inside Marcus's notebook.

Malik opened it.

There was only one item.

A flash drive.

David picked it up.

Then a voice echoed through the building.

"You shouldn't have come here."

Everyone turned.

A man stood at the entrance.

Older.

Gray-haired.

Wearing a dark jacket.

Reed immediately recognized him.

"Daniel Voss."

Voss smiled.

"Still alive, Reed?"

"Unfortunately for you."
