"Yes, sir."
"Did you see what happened?"
Davis looked at Miller.
Then at Daniel.
His hands trembled.
"Yes."
"Tell me exactly what you saw."
Miller stood.
"Chief, don't listen to him. He's new."
Daniel raised a hand.
"Officer Miller, you will have an opportunity to respond."
Miller stopped.
Daniel looked at Davis.
"Go ahead."
Davis took a breath.
"He approached Mr. Reed."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
Miller interrupted.
"He was acting suspicious."
Daniel looked at Davis again.
"Continue."
Davis swallowed.
"Miller grabbed him. Mr. Reed asked him to let go. Miller shoved him. Then he pushed him against the wall."
Miller's voice rose.
"That's not what happened."
Daniel remained calm.
"You will speak when I ask you to."
The officer fell silent.
Davis continued.
"When I tried to intervene, Officer Miller pushed me too."
Daniel nodded.
"Thank you."
Davis looked surprised.
Daniel turned toward the lobby.
"Is there a camera covering this area?"
The desk sergeant nodded.
"Several."
"Preserve every recording from the last four hours."
"Yes, sir."
"Nobody deletes anything. Nobody copies anything. Nobody reviews it without authorization."
The sergeant stood straighter.
"Understood."
Daniel turned toward Miller.
"Now we begin."
Miller looked confused.
"Begin what?"
