intimidate and inflict a small

measure of pain.

The moment his hand clamped

down on her worn wool coat, the

atmosphere in the room shattered.

The woman did not scream, nor did

she struggle wildly. Instead, her

reaction was swift, sharp, and

brutally commanding.

"Take your hands off me this

instant!" her voice cracked through

the quiet restaurant like a whip. It

was a voice accustomed to giving

orders, a voice that expected

immediate and absolute obedience.

Shocked by the sheer force of her

command, Julian instinctively

released his grip, stumbling half a

step backward. His hand hovered in

the air, trembling slightly.

"You have no idea who you are

speaking to, and you have absolutely

no idea what you have just done,"

she said, her eyes flashing with a

cold, magnificent fury. She smoothed

the sleeve of her coat with a

dignified flick of her wrist, never

breaking eye contact with the now-

flustered manager.

"I don't care who you think you

are!" Julian stammered, though his

voice lacked its previous confident

venom. He raised his hand to signal

the burly security guard standing

outside the glass doors. "Security!

Remove this woman from the

premises immediately. Use whatever

force is necessary."

The guard, a massive man named

Marcus, pushed through the doors,

looking confused but ready to follow

orders. He moved toward the elderly

woman, reaching out to grab her

shoulders.

"Marcus, stop right there," the

woman commanded, not even

looking at the guard, keeping her

piercing gaze fixed entirely on

Julian.

To Julian's utter disbelief, Marcus

froze. The guard looked from the

woman to Julian, his face draining of

color. "Ma'am?" Marcus mumbled,

suddenly looking like a terrified

child.

"What are you doing, you idiot?!"

Julian screamed at the guard. "Grab

her and throw her out!"

"I... I can't do that, Mr. Vance,"

Marcus stammered, taking a large

step backward and lowering his

hands.

"Why the hell not?!"

Because," the elderly woman

interrupted, her voice dropping back

to that calm, deadly tone. "He knows

exactly who I am."

Chapter 6: The Unveiling

Julian’s breathing became

shallow. He looked wildly between

Marcus, who was now staring at the

floor, and the elderly woman, who

was casually unbuckling the worn

leather satchel strapped across her

chest.

She reached into the bag and

pulled out a slim, gold-embossed

business card. She held it out

between two fingers. Julian didn't

take it; he just stared at it as if it

were a live grenade.
