Eleanor frowned.
“You've been sitting here the entire time?”
Alex nodded.
“Yes.”
She studied him.
“Why aren't you doing anything?”
Alex looked confused.
“I'm just waiting.”
“This park is for families,” Eleanor said.
Alex glanced around.
“I know.”
“And community members.”
“I live here.”
Eleanor's expression hardened.
“I don't think you understand.”
Alex slowly stood.
“Understand what?”
“You shouldn't be sitting here by yourself.”
Alex stared at her.
“Why not?”
Eleanor didn't answer.
Instead, she said:
“You need to leave.”
Alex's voice remained calm.
“My mom is coming.”
Eleanor stepped backward.
“Fine.”
She pulled out her phone.
