“Excuse me?”

Vanessa gave a short laugh.

“Nothing. We’ve had problems with people ordering and suddenly realizing they don’t have money.”

A silence settled over the table.

Harris slowly reached into his coat and removed an old leather wallet.

“I have enough money,” he said.

Vanessa stared at the wallet for a moment.

Then she turned away.

“Fine.”
