"Is... is that true?" Weston stammered, his pride completely shattered.
"It doesn't matter what's true," Arthur said softly, setting his coffee mug down. "What matters is the road."

Weston swallowed hard, his posture collapsing. The arrogant billionaire who had arrived in a G-Wagon was gone, replaced by a shaken young man who had just seen the void of true authority.

By noon, the atmosphere around the boundary line had completely shifted.
Weston returned to the easement road not in his fighting gear, but in a simple shirt and jeans. He brought with him a crew of workers from his property. Under Weston’s direct supervision, the workers dismantled the steel gate, loaded the posts into a flatbed truck, and completely cleared the right-of-way.
Arthur stood by his truck, watching the work proceed. Sheriff Miller’s cruiser pulled up, kicking up a gentle dust trail. Miller got out, leaning on his cane, a broad grin spread across his weathered face.
"Well, well," Miller said, looking at the dismantled gate. "Looks like someone had a sudden change of heart regarding county easement laws."
"We reached an understanding," Arthur said quietly.
Weston walked over to Arthur and Sheriff Miller. He looked tired, humbled, and noticeably subdued. He stopped three feet away and extended his hand toward Arthur.
"I owe you an apology, Mr. Hayes," Weston said, his voice sincere. "I let my ego get ahead of my judgment. I thought money and a black belt made me invincible. I was wrong."
Arthur looked at the outstretched hand for a moment, then reached out and shook it with a firm, solid grip. "Takes a man to admit when he's wrong, Weston. Just remember—the world is bigger and older than your bank account or your trophies."
