One hundred and forty-seven motorcycles lined up outside.

The picture had been taken the morning the riders came.

Emma stared at it.

“So many.”

Stone smiled.

“They all came because of you.”

Emma shook her head.

“No.”

She pointed at herself.

“I was scared.”

Stone nodded.

“That's why it mattered.”

Years later, Emma became a lawyer.

She specialized in protecting vulnerable children.

On her office wall was a photograph.

A little girl stood beside a motorcycle rider outside a roadside diner.

She was wearing an oversized leather jacket.

The caption beneath it read:

“Sometimes courage begins with asking someone for help.”

Emma never forgot that night.

She never forgot the cold pavement.

The hunger.

The fear.

The moment she thought nobody would believe her.

And she never forgot what happened after she finally spoke.

One man listened.

Then six.

Then dozens.

Then 147.

She eventually understood something that had taken her years to put into words:

You don't always need to be powerful to change what happens next.

Sometimes you only need enough courage to say:

“Something is wrong.”

And sometimes...

someone will hear you.

Even at 2:00 in the morning.
