Samuel opened another page.

There was a letter.

Evelyn read it.

Marcus had written:

I don't want their hotel.

I want them to know what happened.

Evelyn's eyes filled with tears.

Samuel continued.

Evelyn closed the letter.

"What can I do?"

She nodded.

"Publicly?"

"Yes."

"That will destroy my family name."

Samuel looked at her.

"No."

Evelyn looked down.

"Maybe they deserve that."

Samuel shook his head.

"Your grandfather made the mistake."

"Not you."

Evelyn looked at him.

"So what do you want?"

Samuel smiled.

"I don't want your hotel."

"I don't want your money."

"I want the Carter name restored."

"On the history."

"In the archives."

"On the plaque."

Evelyn nodded.

"Done."

Samuel looked surprised.

"Just like that?"

"No."

Evelyn stood.

"Not just that."

She looked toward the city.

"We're going to rebuild the story."
