dismantled rival corporations, the ruthless, predatory

instinct that made him the most feared man on Wall Street.

But he forced it down, masking it with a gentle smile for

his wife.

"Shh," he whispered, kissing her forehead. "You don't

need to think about her. You don't need to think about

anything but resting. I'm going to take care of everything."

He stayed by her side until the medication pulled her

back into a deep, healing sleep. Once he was certain she

was resting comfortably, he stood up, his demeanor

shifting instantly. The gentle, loving husband vanished,

replaced by the apex predator of the financial world.

He walked out of the recovery room and found David

Sterling waiting in the private lounge down the hall. David

had a tablet resting on the table in front of him. The police

had already come and gone. Isabella had been formally

arrested and escorted out of the Plaza in handcuffs, her

face plastered across every major news network by the

time they reached the precinct.

"You have the footage?" Marcus asked, his voice dead

flat.

Marcus watched Khloe's body twist in the air, her

desperate attempt to protect her stomach resulting in her

side taking the full force of the impact against the glass. He

watched the table shatter. He watched his wife collapse in

agony.

He paused the video.

The silence in the room was absolute. David watched

his nephew carefully. He knew Marcus better than anyone.

He knew the terrifying intellect and the boundless

resources the younger man possessed.

"Lorenzo Rossi is already spinning this," David said

quietly. "His PR firm released a statement five minutes ago

claiming Isabella suffered a severe psychological

breakdown due to mixing new medication with alcohol.

They're going for diminished capacity. They're going to try

to buy a judge and get her sent to a luxury rehabilitation

center in Switzerland instead of a state penitentiary."

Marcus slowly set the tablet face down on the table.

He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed his Chief

Operating Officer.

"Call the war room," Marcus ordered, his voice

echoing with absolute authority. "Wake up the entire

acquisitions team, the legal department, and our media

contacts. I want a complete financial analysis of Rossi

Enterprises on my desk by sunrise. I want their supply

chains, their leveraged debts, their silent partners, and

their vulnerabilities."

"Marcus," his COO's voice crackled through the phone,

thick with sleep but quickly sharpening. "It's three in the

morning. A hostile takeover of Rossi Enterprises would

require billions in liquid capital and could destabilize the

entire shipping sector."

"I don't want a takeover," Marcus said coldly, staring

out the window into the rainy New York night. "I want an

execution. Liquidate our secondary assets. Short their stock

through our shell companies. Bribe their union leaders to

strike. Call in every debt Lorenzo Rossi owes to our

partners. By the end of this week, I want the Rossi family

bankrupt, disgraced, and begging for mercy."

He hung up the phone and looked at David. "No one

touches my family."

Chapter 5: Corporate Warfare

The morning sun rose over Manhattan, casting a

brilliant light over the towering skyscrapers, but inside the

boardroom of Thorne Enterprises, the atmosphere was as

dark and lethal as a midnight ambush. A dozen analysts,

lawyers, and strategists sat around the massive mahogany

table, their laptops glowing, their faces pale with

exhaustion and adrenaline. Marcus stood at the head of the

table, impeccably dressed in a fresh charcoal suit, his eyes

burning with an intense, unyielding fire.

"Talk to me," Marcus commanded, leaning his hands

on the table.

"Rossi Enterprises is heavily leveraged," his lead

financial analyst, a sharp woman named Sarah, reported.

"They recently took out a massive line of credit to upgrade

their fleet in the Pacific. The collateral is their primary

ports in Italy and Greece. Their stock opened down four
