He had a prior record involving child endangerment.

But Jerome barely looked at him.

His eyes stayed on Lucas.

The hospital waiting room was quiet.

Jerome sat with Shade and several other riders.

Everyone exhaled.

“He's dehydrated and has some bruising.”

Jerome nodded.

The social worker smiled sadly.

“He hasn't left Lucas's side.”

She paused.

“He's holding his brother's hand.”

Jerome stood.

“Can we see them?”

“Five minutes.”

They entered the room.

Gabe sat beside Lucas.

His hands moved slowly.

His eyes filled with tears.

“You found him.”

Jerome crouched beside the bed.

He pointed toward Gabe.
